Call for abstracts is now open!

The PBRI Symposium 2026 is inviting you to submit abstracts for the symposium program. 

  • All abstracts must be submitted through the PBRI Symposium abstract portal
  • Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the organising committee
  • Accepted abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations
  • Submission length: 250 words
  • Submission close date Friday 27 February 2026, 5:00pm AEST
  • Acceptance notification from 13 March 2026

Themes

Abstracts can be submitted under the following themes:

  • Early warning and risk
  • Diagnostics and surveillance
  • Resilient crop protection
  • Trans-Tasman biosecurity research
  • Readiness and recovery
  • Plant biosecurity capability building

General policies and requirements

  • All abstracts must contain original work of the presenting author(s)
  • A presenting author must submit the abstract
  • Presenters named in the abstract as speakers should have considerable presentation skills
  • All required fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed
  • Acceptance of oral presentations and posters will be on the basis of blind peer review (your name and organisation will not be known to assessors)
  • While you may nominate your preferred presentation type (oral or poster), your abstract may be accepted in a different format than the one you selected.
  • The Symposium Organisers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events.
