The pathways to Aboriginal medicine commercialisation are strewn with obstacles – cultural, financial, practical, regulatory and commercial. How can Aboriginal communities navigate commercialisation pathways that maintain cultural integrity while being commercially responsive, protect Indigenous intellectual property and traditional cultural authority while balancing the real-world needs of their commercial partners? Are the boards of native title representative bodies able to establish appropriate decision-making processes or will the commercialisation process require the establishment of special-purpose bodies?
