The U.S.-based Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust funds projects and programs in the Americas, Australia and New Zealand that advance ornamental horticulture through research or education. Funding interests include publications, public gardens, research, education, and ornamental plants. The maximum grant amount awarded is $25,000 USD.

Nancy Kartes has served as Grants Director for the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust for four years, following a forty-year career in public garden administration at gardens in Hawaii and Washington.
